Our Mission
The Apostolic Old Catholic Mission is an international, self‑governed micro‑jurisdiction rooted in the faith, worship, and spiritual life of the early undivided Church. We call ourselves a mission because our purpose is simple: to serve Christ and meet people where they are, not to build large structures.
Small, Close, Mission‑Focused
We believe that spiritual depth does not depend on size. Like the first Christian communities, we live in personal relationships that often stretch across countries and continents. What unites us is faith, order, formation, and accountable pastoral care – not a single geographic center.
Our Faith
Our faith stands on Holy Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and a responsible use of reason and conscience. We confess the historic Christian faith expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed. We celebrate the seven sacraments and uphold the threefold ministry of bishops, priests, and deacons in apostolic succession. The Holy Eucharist is the heart of our worship and our common life.

We especially accompany those seeking a spiritual home, returning to faith, or feeling hurt, excluded, or overlooked by larger church institutions.
Inclusion
Every person is created in the image of God and carries an unbreakable dignity. Women, LGBTQI+ persons, divorced and remarried people, and anyone with experiences of exclusion are fully welcome. Sacraments and vocational discernment are open to all who are called, prepared, and willing to live in accountability.
Formation
The Institute of Ministry provides structured and responsible formation for candidates of the Mission and for partners in compatible sacramental and Western‑liturgical traditions. For us, independent ministry means high standards, clear conduct, and effective safeguarding.
Ecumenical Friendship
We seek friendly cooperation with other Christian communities wherever faith, sacramental understanding, and safeguarding standards align. Our membership in the Bund freier katholischer Gemeinden expresses this commitment to shared witness and collaboration.
Legal Framework
The Mission is registered in South Africa as Apostolic Old Catholic Mission NPC (Registration No. 2025/038188/08). This provides a reliable administrative foundation while we remain international in scope and serve people across borders.

Ausbildung
Das Institute of Ministry bietet eine strukturierte, verantwortungsvolle Ausbildung für Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten der Mission sowie für befreundete Jurisdiktionen. Unabhängiger Dienst bedeutet für uns: hohe Standards, klare Regeln und wirksamer Schutz vor Missbrauch.
Ökumenische Freundschaft
Wir suchen Zusammenarbeit mit anderen christlichen Gemeinschaften, wo Glaube, Sakramentsverständnis und Schutzstandards übereinstimmen. Unsere Mitgliedschaft im Bund freier katholischer Gemeinden unterstreicht diese Verbundenheit.
Rechtlicher Rahmen
Die Mission ist in Südafrika als Apostolic Old Catholic Mission NPC registriert (Nr. 2025/038188/08). Wir bleiben dennoch international ausgerichtet und dienen Menschen weltweit.
